Program  : Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Day 2023

Date : 5 July 2023

Venue : Kompleks Pembelajaran Berpusat Pelajar, FTKKI

Participants : UMT Staff

This program was attended by members of FTKKI, especially lab staff and administration. The topic covered occupational safety and health at FTKKI and UMT. This event was held on July 5, 2023, at Kompleks Pembelajaran Berpusat Pelajar, FTKKI. The objectives of this program are to increase awareness and basic knowledge surrounding safety and health. The topics place more stress on ergonomics, self-assessment, and others. Alhamdulillah, this event was successfully and fully filled with topics covered by speakers, medical checkups from PKU, and supplier company exhibitions from Permula Sdn Bhd.

 

 

Program  : FTKKI Summer School 2023: Digitalized Heritage and Culture

Date : 31 July – 13August 2023

Venue : Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Chagar Hutang (Pulau Redang)

Participants : 17 orang peserta dari UNIKOM (Universitas Komputer) – Bandung, Indonesia, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute – India and Universitas Ahmad Dahlan – Jogjakarta, Indonesia.

Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics (FTKKI) held the annual inbound mobility program, “FTKKI Summer School 2023: Digitalized Heritage and Culture”, which successfully took place from July 31 to August 13, 2023. In its fifth edition, the event successfully attracted the participation of 17 participants from two (2) countries; Indonesia and India. There were ten (10) participant from Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), five (5) from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, India, and two (2) from Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD). Additionally, there was one (1) accompanying lecturer, Dr. Alice Rufina, from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, India.

The program received collaboration from the International Centre Department, Student and Alumni Affairs Department (HEPA), Knowledge Transfer Center, Industry and Society Network (PPIJIM), and assistance from appointed “Buddies,” seven (7) students from Computer Science Department and Mathematics Department. This credit-bearing program retained the same format as previous years, comprising four (4) lectures delivered by five (5) lecturers from Mathematics Department and three (3) lectures delivered by five (5) lecturers from Computer Science Department. The program is aimed to expose the participants to mathematical concepts and computer technology related to the heritage and culture of Terengganu.

Participants were guided to produce videos based on four (4) heritage and cultural excursions, including visits to Terengganu Cultural Village, Lambo Sari Cultural Center, AZ Keropok, Crystal Mosque, Puan Rohani Longuet Library, and Duyong Island traditional boat making. At the end of the program the participants presented multimedia projects with augmented reality technology, showcasing fieldwork recordings and linking mathematical concepts within the scopes of architecture, traditional food, fashion, dance and music, or traditional games.

In addition to heritage and cultural visits, the participants explored various cultural beauties within Terengganu’s natural surroundings, including UMT (Chancellor’s Office, e-learning studio, Sultanah Nur Zahirah Library, Student Complex, and Sultan Mahmud Islamic Center), Chagar Hutang, Redang Island, Pasar Payang, and Chinatown to enrich their cultural experiences.

The program’s climax was the closing ceremony held at UMT Convention Center (UMTCC), featuring cultural performances, montage presentations, certificate giving ceremony to all participants, and awards for the best projects. The group with the highest score received the “Best Project Award,” and their video was showcased during the closing ceremony.

In the closing speech by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Bin Ibrahim, expressed admiration for the presented projects. He stated, “From the brief video presentation, I am greatly impressed with the connection between Islamic architecture and Mathematics presented. I believe there are many more mathematical concepts we can explore beyond the aspect of architectural art. Such out-of-class explorations are what we hope for in achieving the objectives of mobility programs, allowing participants to learn about local culture.”

Following the closing ceremony, a Letter of Intent (LoI) signing ceremony between FTKKI, UMT, and UNIKOM was held to strengthen the relationship between the two universities. Represented by UMT FTKKI Dean, Professor Ir. Dr. Mohammad Fadhli Ahmad and International Publishing Director, Dr. Senny Luckyardi from UNIKOM, the ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim, and PPIJM Director, Dr. Zuha Rosufila Abu Hasan. This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact for both universities in terms of academic research, publications, and supervision.

 

 

Program : Program Pendakian Semarak Merdeka FTKKI 2023

Venue : Dataran Bukit Lubuk Batu, Marang Terengganu

The initiative to conduct “Pendakian Semarak Merdeka 2023” program is driven by the Health and Safety Committee of the Faculty of Maritime Engineering and Informatics Technology (FTKKI), is aligned with the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

The program is set to unfold at the scenic locale of Bukit Lubuk Batu, Marang, Terengganu. The primary objective of the Independence Hike FTKKI 2023 is to kindle a heightened sense of patriotism among FTKKI members, fostering unity and national pride. Additionally, the initiative supports (PSUMT Teras 1 OS 3), aiming to cultivate a prosperous work culture through an appreciation for nature.

In essence, the program seeks to establish a healthy lifestyle by actively engaging participants in physical activities, cultivate an active workforce with a genuine interest in sports events, strengthen teamwork among colleagues, and foster patriotic sentiments during the month of independence.

The “Pendakian Semarak Merdeka 2023” is designed to be inclusive, open to all FTKKI members with a participant limit set at 40 individuals. The event is scheduled for August 30, 2023, to coincide with the Independence Month celebrations.

As we anticipate approval from the FTKKI Management Committee, the “Pendakian Semarak Merdeka 2023” is envisioned not only as a physical endeavor but as a unifying experience. It aims to contribute to the physical fitness of participants while fostering lasting bonds and instilling a profound sense of pride and love for the country.

In conclusion, we express our enthusiasm for the potential success of this event and its positive impact on the FTKKI community. We believe that the “Pendakian Semarak Merdeka 2023” aligns with the principles of a healthy and active lifestyle, coupled with a deep sense of patriotism.

Program  : Karnival Saham Terengganu  2023

This program is a collaboration among ftkki and bursa malaysia to increase awareness on the investment and scammers. It was happen for one day from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. There are many activities being held including talks and seminars, colouring competition and booths from some agencies.
